Budded branches are excellent for cutting and display in indoor flower arrangements. This one has stood the test of time to earn a place in so many North American gardens not only because of its stunning spring flower display but also its superior drought, heat and cold tolerance and high resistance to insect, disease, deer and salt. Combines nicely and blooms right along with other early spring flowering beauties such as Forsythia, Quince,Magnolia Tulip Trees, Native Azaleas, and spring-flowering Camellias. Landscape & Garden Uses Growing 5 to 8 feet tall and equally as wide, the Double Bridal Wreath Spirea is ideal for use as a specimen, in groupings, or as a natural hedge in landscape and flowering shrub borders. Also makes a nice accent in home foundation plantings to soften corners or fill spaces between widely-spaced windows. A fine addition to cottage gardens, white theme gardens, cut flower gardens and the Xeriscape (low water needs). Suggested Spacing: 4 to 5 feet apart for solid hedges; 10 feet or more apart for space between plants Growing Preferences Double Bridal Wreath Spirea is very easy to grow in a wide range of soils preferring a moist but well-drained soil of average fertility. For the best foliage color we suggest full to mostly sun however plants will tolerate some light shade. Prune for shaping or to reduce the size of the plant after flowering in spring.
