Description

This is the handsome Emerald Green Arborvitae in a sculpted spiral form! It is an evergreen conifer featuring attractive, dark emerald green foliage year round and no color change in winter. Arborvitae spiral requires far less maintenance to maintain its form than do many other spiral formed plants such as junipers and small leafed hollies. Generally, two trimmings annually will maintain the beautiful spiral form.

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing to a height of 8 to 10 feet and 2 to 3 feet wide (depending on pruning), the Spiral Emerald Green Arborvitae is ideal for use to accentuate and frame entryways or as a specimen in home foundation plantings and landscape borders. A fine addition to formal and topiary gardens, conifer gardens, rock gardens and container gardens.

Suggested Spacing:  5 feet apart for space between plants

Growing Preferences

Arborvitae are very easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil of average fertility, including clay soil, in full sun to light shade. In containers, choose a pot with a drainage hole(s) and use a quality potting soil or potting mix or a 50/50 mix thereof. For best performance we suggest a minimum of 7 hours direct sunlight. Constantly soggy or wet soils can be problematic. Maintenance is minimal; very little if any pruning ever required.

Average Trimming Per Year:  2
