Denim N' Lace Russian Sage (Perovskia) - 1 Gallon Pot

A Russian Sage that doesn’t get too tall and has stronger stems and a more upright habit than most older varieties, Denim 'n Lace features long-lasting bright sky blue flowers held on amethyst color calyxes packed closely together for a fuller and more uniform look. Blooming from mid summer to mid fall, you and the hummingbirds will have soothing and colorful flowers during the hottest part of the season. Even when not in bloom the colorful calyxes give the impression that the plant is still in bloom even when its not! Exceptionally drought, heat and cold tolerant and thriving on neglect when established, this is one of those plants you can plant in the sun and forget about. Deer won't touch it either. What more can we ask for in a perennial?

Growing just shy of 3 feet tall and equally as wide, the ‘Denim ‘n Lace’ Russian Sage is ideal for use as an accent in smaller garden spaces or in groupings or as a border in sunny landscape and garden borders. A fine addition to herb gardens, butterfly and hummingbird gardens, pollinator gardens, rock gardens, perennial gardens, fragrance gardens, blue color theme gardens, and the Xeriscape (low water needs).


Growing Preferences

‘Denim ‘n Lace’ Russian Sage is easy to grow in a variety of soils, including well-draining clay, but prefers a loamy to sandy, well-drained soil with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH ranging from 7.0 to 7.5 on the pH scale. It is also salt tolerant and drought tolerant and therefore suited for growing in seaside gardens.
