Carolina Sweetheart Eastern Redbud Tree - 3 Gallon Pot

A kaleidoscope of color, we've never seen a tree like the Carolina Sweetheart Redbud. Following the brilliant pink flowers that nearly cover the branches in spring, new leaves emerge a maroon-purple color. Then, as the season progresses the leaves transition to various shades and variegated patterns of hot pink, white and green - truly remarkable! Eventually, during summer the large heart-shape leaves turn to green with a white margin. Sure to be a conversation piece, Carolina Sweetheart is an eye-catching specimen tree and for use around the home or in sunny to partially shaded landscape or woodland borders.

Growing 15 to 25 feet tall and wide, the Carolina Sweetheart Redbud tree is ideal for use as a focal specimen or in groupings in sunny to partially shaded landscape or woodland borders. Also nice to mark each side of an entryway and to provide beauty and some shade around patios, porches and other outdoor living spaces. Excellent planted among azaleas in woodland borders.

Suggested Spacing:  30 feet or more for space between trees

 

The Carolina Sweetheart Redbud tree is very easy to grow in most any average, moist but well-drained soil and full or part sun. It is very drought tolerant when established. Standing water or constantly soggy or wet soils can be problematic.
