As conifers go, it is considered fast growing, adding maybe a foot or so in height per year until it reaches maturity at 12 to 14 feet in height. Its size makes it an excellent choice for a mid-size privacy screen or to frame corners in home foundation plantings. Landscape & Garden Uses Its upright habit and dense foliage you can't see through makes the Blue Point Juniper an ideal selection for a dense privacy screen or windbreak, to mark each side of an entry way, as a colorful specimen plant, or to frame in the corners of a home or other structure in the sunny landscape. An excellent addition to Asian Gardens, Bird Gardens, Conifer Gardens, Rock Gardens, Xeriscape Gardens (Low Water Needs). Suggested Spacing: 4 to 4.5 feet apart for solid hedges and privacy screens; 10 feet apart for space between plants Growing Preferences The Blue Point Juniper is easy to grow in most any average, moist to somewhat dry well-drained soils and full sun to mostly sun. It is a very low maintenance plant and exceptionally drought tolerant when established. No pruning is necessary.
