The small, oval-shaped evergreen leaves are rich green in color and very shiny. Weeds will have a tough time growing through this dense carpet of handsome foliage and it's a perfect choice for under large shade trees and on embankments. Landscape & Garden Uses Growing 8 to 12 inches tall and vigorously spreading to 5 feet or more in width, Asian Jasmine is a ideal for use as a groundcover and soil stabilizer for erosion control on sunny or shady embankments, hillsides and slopes. Because it thrives in shade, it is perfect for use under the canopies of large shade trees, decks or other overhead structures. Unless you don't mind frequent pruning to keep the plant in bounds, avoid planting in small spaces where the plant cannot be confined.
