The old-fashioned looking lavender-pink flowers stand out beautifully against the rich, deep green evergreen foliage that remains attractive throughout the seasons. One of our favorites among all azaleas! Landscape & Garden Uses Growing in a large mound 6 to 8 feet tall and equally as wide over time, the 'Abbey's Re-View' Evergreen Azalea is ideal for use as an accent in flowering shrub borders or in groupings or natural hedges in landscape and woodland borders. The plants perform exceptionally well in part shade under tall pine trees. A fine addition to Azalea gardens, purple or pink theme gardens, butterfly and hummingbird gardens, beneficial pollinator gardens, native gardens, and old-fashioned and cottage gardens. Spacing: 5 feet apart for solid hedges; 10 feet or more apart for space between plants How To Measure Total Square Feet Of A Planting Area How Many Plants Needed To Cover A Planting Area? Growing Preferences Abbey's Review Evergreen native Azalea (Rhododendron) is easy to grow when planted right and in the right spot. It prefers a moist but well-drained acidic soil rich in organic matter and part shade to shade. Morning sun with afternoon filtered sun or shade is ideal. Evening sun is okay as well. In zones 6 and 7 more afternoon sun is tolerated. That said, we think almost all azaleas look and perform their best in a shadier environment, which is where you would find them naturally growing in their native habitat. Established plants have good drought tolerance. Helpful Articles Click on a link below to find helpful advice from our experts on how to plant and care for Azaleas.
