Unlike other mophead hydrangea, you can prune the Everlasting Hydrangeas at any time of year, though we recommend a late winter pruning and a deadheading (removal of faded flowers) after its first flush of blooms have faded. Flowers may be blue or purple tinted in acid soils. They're a more compact plant and are perfect for a tidy border planting, smaller space garden, city garden or containers. The tradeoff for the long lasting blooms (April-November in zone 8b) is that the blooms are slightly smaller than other large leaf hydrangeas, and the plant itself is a semi dwarf size. The colorful flowers are absolutely magical with a range of pink, lavender and blue and green all on the same plant. I couldn't be happier with the service we've received from Wilson Brothers. They send the plants promptly after ordering and the packing is the most professional of all the online nurseries I've ordered from, I can't recommend them more highly.
